Empowering Saudi Arabia’s Youth in Tech

“Think globally, act locally.” A simple quote has turned into a swift, tangible initiative by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in pursuit of inspiring the change-makers of tomorrow.

The first SIC in Saudi Arabia

Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) launched in January 2020 as an AI and IoT-driven initiative helping young adults find long-term success by gaining advanced skills to boost careers, support employability, and flourish their minds in the evolving, technology-driven landscape.

240 hours of intensive AI and IoT training

After carefully reviewing submissions from Saudi Arabia’s youth with the aspiration to lead the future and great interest in pursuing AI industries, 63 ambitious minds were chosen for SIC. The students enrolled in 240 hours of immersive training, which included eLearning lectures, exercises, and a capstone project on AI and IoT.

Participant Al Areej Alzahrani said, “Through the 3 months, I could study real-life examples of the uses and opportunities of AI. The course also strengthened my skillsets in machine learning and deep learning, expanding my range of job opportunities in the tech field.” Alzahrani strongly recommends the training to all interested students.

“We are honored to have launched the Artificial Intelligence program in Saudi Arabia with Misk Academy to boost local talents in a vital sector for the Kingdom and the region,” said Y.J. Kim, President of Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia. Innovation Campus’ partner, Misk Academy, is an initiative led by a non-profit organization Misk Foundation. The Academy’s mission aligns with Samsung’s purpose of empowering future leaders through innovative and informative experiences.
