A true ‘Influencer’ to Shed Light on STEM

Four years after the experience at Samsung Innovation Campus, Carmen became a role model for young Italians, promoting the importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and inspiring many people. Meet Carmen Panepinto Zayati.

Fine a New Way Through Samsung Innovation Campus

Carmen, who first entered the STEM field through Samsung Innovation Campus, is currently a master’s student in bionics engineering with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. She is currently an active contributor to the STEM Education Act agenda, working on various activities regarding science education in schools, at conferences and on social media.

This year, Carmen participates in Samsung Italy’s campaign as a graduate of Samsung Innovation Campus to highlight the importance of STEM education. “For young people who actively ‘chase’ role models, we believe that Carmen is an ‘influencer’, with a particular focus on women’s STEM education, where digital gap is still an extremely relevant issue,” said Anastasia Buda, Corporate Citizenship & Internal Communication Manager at Samsung Electronics Italy.

Become active an agent of change

Throughout the campaign, Carmen not only explains what STEM is, its uses and values, but also shares her journey about finding her calling. “Even though the path was winding, every step brought me closer to my true calling,” she said. “Through my experience, I learned two main lessons. The first is that big goals are always achieved one step at a time. The second lesson is to embrace change and always be open to new experiences and opportunities that come your way.”
