In the cities of Thailand, Samsung Electronics has been supporting IT education to the young students of the country through Samsung Innovation Campus. One of these students, whose passion for IT has intensified more than ever, is Peravich, an eighth-grade student from Triamidomsuksanimklao School in Bangkok. Read on to find out how Peravich got hooked on programming and what he wants to become in the future.
“My father has been very modern and open-minded. He is the one that introduced me to the world of programming.” Since an earlier age, Peravich was introduced to the world of IT by his father who advised him to learn C programming. Peravich said, “The first take on the subject was difficult because I did not have much interest but the whole feeling changed when I started learning Scratch and Micro Bit in grade 5 and 6. I liked it so much that I started to study coding by myself since then.”
Expanding knowledge and understanding
“I have been doing some small projects on my own and studied Python at school but wanted to have professional help to improve my coding and programming skills.” In 2021, Peravich applied for Samsung Innovation Campus. In addition to improving his knowledge of the languages he knew, Peravich could finally learn the C language. “I have been trying to learn C language on my own by reading and practicing at home but it was nearly impossible. The thorough lessons taught by industry professionals at Samsung Innovation Campus were so helpful, now I can interpret and use the language,” he explained.
Peravich considers Samsung Innovation Campus to be a perfect foundation for programming. “While it is important for programmers to understand different techniques in a clear concept, Samsung Innovation Campus does just that. The program gives a clear picture of different coding systems,” he said. “The two-way communication between teachers and students also helps understand the content unlike self-study where no one gives feedback.”
Becoming a well-rounded IT expert
Currently, Peravich’s has two favorite subjects: coding and programming and social science. Although Peravich dreams of becoming a blockchain developer or software developer in the future, he believes that social subjects like law and politics teach him to understand society and the world better.
Peravich recommends young students who are passionate, or even curious, about the IT field to enroll in Samsung Innovation Campus. “Samsung Innovation Campus was extremely helpful for me to learn different coding and programming skills that I could not interpret on my own. It allowed me to open up to the broader world, learn new things, and reach for higher goals.”
