Algiers, January 31, 2026 – Samsung Algeria and the National School of Computer Science (ESI) have concluded the 3rd edition of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) in Algeria. This training program dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) aims to support Algerian young talents in acquiring future technological skills and to enhance their employability, thereby contributing to the country's digital development.
For nearly more than 3 months, the forty selected students from ESI followed a demanding program combining theoretical teachings and practical projects (Capstone Projects). This edition concluded with a closing ceremony held in Algiers, which was a significant moment for the students, supervisors, and institutional partners. On this occasion, the students presented their projects to a jury composed of academic and professional experts, highlighting the breadth of their skills and the quality of the work accomplished throughout the program.
An intensive and structured program
The Samsung Innovation Campus took place over 13 weeks, representing more than 400 hours of training, alternating between in-person and online classes, practical sessions, high-level pedagogical support, and individual work.
The taught modules covered the key areas of artificial intelligence: Mathematics and Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and supervised practical projects, enabling the addressing of real-world issues using the acquired skills.
The program was delivered by Algerian experts specializing in artificial intelligence, ensuring a high-level learning experience that aligns with academic requirements and market needs.
High-impact concrete projects
Throughout the program, students worked on four major projects, each comprising two to three teams:
- DZA PriceSight – Price Analysis for the Algerian Market: This project uses machine learning to analyze prices in the Algerian market, identifying trends and anomalies to improve transparency and assist economic stakeholders.
- Smart Plant Recognition System for Algiers: Based on computer vision, this system identifies plants from smartphone images, providing educational information and enhancing Algeria's natural heritage.
- Analyzing Viewer Interaction on Algerian BAC Learning Videos Using Machine Learning: This project studies students' behaviors in response to baccalaureate preparation videos, using machine learning to optimize digital educational content.
- Rapid Sentiment Analysis: This project analyzes sentiments on Algerian social networks, using NLP and machine learning to measure public opinion trends and provide an analysis tool tailored to the local context.
A rigorous and participatory evaluation process
Following the project presentations, the students' work was subject to thorough evaluation by the jury. The selection criteria focused particularly on the understanding of the issue, data preparation and exploration, modeling and technical execution, and finally, the quality of the results presentation. In parallel, a vote by the audience allowed the guests present at the ceremony to participate, thereby contributing to the designation of the best team for each project, in a dynamic that was both educational, collaborative, and transparent.
The Sandia, UNTH AI, Pentagon, and CORE 5 teams have been elected « SIC 2025 Capstone Project Best Team »
The ceremony concluded with the official awarding of certificates of success to all students who completed the entire training program of the Samsung Innovation Campus. This symbolic moment allowed us to recognize their commitment, perseverance, and the skills acquired throughout the program, thus marking the culmination of a strong academic and human experience, and the opening towards new professional perspectives in the field of advanced technologies.
