New Life for Waste Plastic

Team Green's ocean conservationist, Jacques, met with Peru’s Samsung Solve for Tomorrow team. The Peruvian team went beyond simply recycling plastic bottles that end up in the ocean; they are producing sturdy and affordable 3D-printed splints for stroke patients. This initiative not only tackles environmental issues but also provides practical solutions for underserved communities, achieving two goals at once.

Revisiting Insects as the Solution to Waste Problems

Team Green's climate expert, Willow, visited the team from the United States. This team proposed an effective way to manage food waste using black soldier fly larvae. These larvae consume waste, preventing the release of methane, a harmful greenhouse gas produced during decomposition. This inspiring solution shows how even small insects can make a significant impact on environmental challenges.

A New Era of Charging Powered by Movement

Team Green’s energy consultant, Robbie, met French students who have created an innovative prototype to charge smartphones by harnessing electromagnetic fields and human movement. This project proposes a new, sustainable approach to energy use, offering a creative and efficient way to conserve energy and protect the environment.
