Samsung Innovation Campus aims to strengthen the employability of young people in the field of technologies. The global initiative equips the young talents with the technical and soft skills needed to develop innovative solutions that contribute to sustainable development, and to facilitate the digital transformation by eliminating the skill gap between disadvantaged participants and others.

Samsung Innovation Campus Türkiye, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Türkiye, provides young people with qualified advanced technology training to realize their full potential, with a deep understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by 193 member countries of the United Nations to be achieved by 2030, with preparation for the business life and with a mentoring guidance.

The 7th cohort of Samsung Innovation Campus Türkiye was designed specifically for women, reflecting Samsung's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. By equipping women with technical knowledge and supporting them in using AI for good, Samsung Innovation Campus Türkiye is not only narrowing the gender gap in the field but also contributing to a more diverse, innovative, and socially responsible technology landscape.

More than 5,000 people applied to be trained in advanced AI technologies at global standards and to develop solutions for sustainable development with the technical knowledge they will gain. Among these many applications, 29 women were carefully selected after successfully passing the technical test and oral interview. Most of them are university seniors or newly graduated young women preparing to enter the business world. Throughout the cohort, these talented young women will also be supported by Samsung’s employee mentors.

Experienced employees from Samsung Electronics Türkiye volunteered as mentors to help Samsung Innovation Campus participants develop their soft skills and provide the right guidance for their career planning. The mentors received mentoring training from experts at the Samsung Innovation Center. In addition, the employee mentors took the AI Crash Course provided by the UNDP SDG AI Lab and learned about AI, how it will impact our world, and how we can improve sustainable development through AI technologies.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformative and compelling technologies of our time. In its essence, AI refers to the development of computer systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. As AI continues to reshape industries and redefine possibilities, the importance of mentorship cannot be overstated. Mentorship fosters a culture of continuous learning and innovation. Mentorship is also fundamentally a process of mutual learning.

Keeping abreast of the latest developments is paramount. Mentors serve as trusted guides, introducing mentees to cutting-edge research, emerging trends, and new methodologies. Through regular interactions and knowledge-sharing sessions, mentors impart not only theoretical knowledge but also practical insights garnered from their own projects and collaborations.
