Raising digital talents of the future

Samsung Innovation Campus 2022

Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) empowers Indonesian students and youth to be the digital talents for the future. SIC in Indonesia provides students with training for Coding & Programming, and IoT Product Development. In the SIC Program Batch 3 – 2021/2022, there were 3,076 students who registered, of which 1,000 students were selected and 150 teachers could join the coding and programming training. The currently running 3rd batch of SIC Indonesia has passed the selection of 100 participants/25 teams and 22 teachers as supervisors from 16 schools to join the IoT bootcamp, pitching workshop & coaching, demo day, and culminating events.

Developing technical skills for programming

Ani Setiani is a student at a vocational school specializing in Electronics Engineering Power and Communication. Despite her initial difficulties, she was able to adapt and develop her skills in relation to technology, particularly in the field of programming.

“I am able to identify acceptable solutions to a variety of problems that arise in my surroundings, develop those solutions into plans that can be implemented successfully, and thereby gain a wealth of new knowledge and enhance my skills.” She now plans on sharing her knowledge with other students and developing her skills to achieve a good career path.

Building practical knowledge through projects

Ridwan Sophian is a recent graduate from a vocational high school who was introduced to SIC by his teacher.

“My favorite part of this program is the opportunity to meet fantastic friends and mentors who always provide advice when I build my website. Despite the fact that this program was run online, the participants' passion is amazing.”

Despite having no basic knowledge for website or app development, he and his team were still able to successfully finish the program and complete the website they had developed after a few months.

“Being able to design the website we want in response to issues that many people face makes us feel quite proud.” His SIC experience eventually landed him a job as an intern, and he further plans to create an app website with the design team after completing the program.
