At present, Araya is the founder of a Spanish Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions company where she oversees the analytics area of the business. One might think that she has been an engineer all her life but she was originally a veteran in finance who worked for consulting firms. What inspired her to change her path? The answer is Samsung Innovation Campus: Women for STEM.

“For me, Samsung Innovation Campus has brought radical changes to my life. It was not only a golden opportunity to introduce myself to the ICT sector, but also a ticket to the working world of technology.”

With a strong will to learn new technologies, Araya signed up for Samsung Innovation Campus. Although the program did not require previous knowledge, the 9 months of intense training asked much effort from Araya who was a complete stranger to IT. Her persistence, however, paid off by reaching the end of the course and obtaining all the knowledge.

“Even if you don't want to be a front-end or back-end developer, the course provides a series of knowledge that can be incorporated into a multitude of areas like design, marketing, and finance. This is where the special value is born, with profiles like mine who come from zero tech background learning to implement the technology with a clear purpose.”

After investing over 350 hours in the project, Araya was determined to put what she learned into practice. Embracing the technology, she took the bold move to take a new professional turn and created an AI startup where she heads the AI and advanced analytics area.

To Araya, Samsung Innovation Campus was a challenge that meant a qualitative change in her life. To enable this life-changing experience for other women, she currently worksas a coordinator and tutor for one of the course modules at Samsung Innovation Campus. She has decided to take part in the initiative to break the gender gap in the ICT field.
