Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Program 2025 Türkiye Winners Crowned: A Triumph of Innovation and Youth Empowerment

In a landmark event that underscores the power of youth-driven innovation, Samsung Electronics Türkiye, in partnership with the Habitat Association, proudly announced the winners of the 2025 Samsung Solve for Tomorrow program. The ceremony celebrated the remarkable achievements of young minds who have redefined the boundaries of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to tackle pressing global challenges.

Hundreds of students from across Türkiye submitted their projects for the program's fourth term. Ten finalist projects addressing this year’s program themes, including sustainability, environmental, and social challenges through technology and sports, were presented to the esteemed jury for evaluation.

The competition jury included Korkut Koçak, Director of Research, Development, and Projects at the Ministry of National Education; Tarık Karkınçam, Deputy Director General of Youth Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Itır Akdoğan, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Habitat Association; Zeynep Erdoğan, Director of İmece; and Şefik Emre Coşkun, Coordinator of the Technology Transfer Office at Near East University.

A Showcase of Exceptional Talents
The Oilsorb Team is the competition winner. The Oilsorb Team emerged victorious with their groundbreaking solution for cleaning oil spills. Utilizing environmentally friendly absorbent pads made from sheep's wool, their project not only addresses environmental concerns but also promotes sustainable domestic production. By proposing a method to separate absorbed oil using a special solvent, they have set a new benchmark for eco-friendly innovation.

The Poseidon Team won the second award for their project, The Poseidon Team's ingenious creation of pool sensors for visually impaired individuals highlights their dedication to accessibility and inclusivity. Their project exemplifies how technology can be harnessed to empower and uplift marginalized communities.

The Tech4Earth Team won third place with their project. The Tech4Earth Team's innovative design of a natural additive building brick from waste materials like eggshells showcases their commitment to sustainability. Their project not only reduces waste but also contributes to the development of eco-friendly construction solutions.
At the award ceremony, the winning teams and their advisor teachers were presented with Samsung's AI-powered Galaxy AI smartphones.

A Celebration of Vision and Leadership:
Samsung Electronics Türkiye CEO Jeff Jo presented the awards to the teams and stated, “Samsung Solve for Tomorrow is a global problem-solving platform empowering youth in 68 countries. At the ceremony, national gymnast Ahmet Önder, who has made a name for himself with his achievements at Olimpics Games, also gave a speech and shared his experiences of representing Türkiye abroad with Mustafa Akay Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2024 Global Ambassador.

A Legacy of Impact:
Since its inception 15 years ago, the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow program has reached 68 countries, engaging 2.9 million students worldwide. In Türkiye, nearly 2,500 students have developed 920 STEM projects, with 6,625 students benefiting from Design Thinking Training. The program's comprehensive approach includes mentoring support and communication skill development, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to bring their ideas to life.
