In Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, students are given the opportunity to innovate and tackle real-world challenges. Leading this impactful initiative in the Czech Republic is Zuzana Mravik Zelenicka, Corporate Citizenship Manager at Samsung Electronics. With her guidance, students receive the mentoring and support they need to turn their creative ideas into reality, growing into the innovators of tomorrow. Let’s meet Zuzana and learn more about her inspiring work with Samsung Solve for Tomorrow.
Q: How do students' ideas evolve throughout Samsung Solve for Tomorrow?
A: The most transformative experience comes during our in-person Design Thinking workshops. This is where students develop their initial ideas to real-world solutions, turning concepts into prototypes. As they progress toward the final stage, the focus is on adaptability, growth, and learning, helping them develop both their ideas and their skills.
Q: Can you share one impressive project from Samsung Solve for Tomorrow?
A: One team really stood out with their development of smart glasses. Despite having limited technical experience, the students used 3D printing to create a prototype that integrated sensors and AI to detect objects. Even though the prototype malfunctioned during the final presentation, they remained composed and delivered a clear explanation of their work. The jury awarded them first place, impressed by their adaptability, progress, and teamwork.
Q: What challenges do students face during Samsung Solve for Tomorrow?
A: One challenge many students mention is communication and time management. Balancing these aspects while developing a project can be tough, but we provide continuous mentorship and support to help them navigate these obstacles effectively. It's all part of the learning journey.
Q: How do students' journeys continue after Samsung Solve for Tomorrow?
A: The students’ growth doesn’t stop after the program. Many alumni stay involved through our community, contributing by offering workshops and joining in internships or even full-time positions. This past summer, instead of professional speakers, the students volunteered to deliver lectures to their peers, sharing insights from their projects and research. It’s a great way for them to continue learning and giving back.
Q: Any final thoughts or comments you'd like to share?
A: Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, where new challenge begins every year, always brings endless excitement. I am so proud when I see students grow—starting businesses, launching projects, and inspiring each other. They engage in cooperation and inspire mutual growth. It’s amazing to see how they come together to make a real impact.
