Samsung Solve for Tomorrow

Helping Each Other as One Community

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2023

Solve for Tomorrow is Samsung’s global initiative which launched in the Czech Republic for the first time in September 2021. The program helps young students practice innovative thinking and mindset-building while presenting solutions to help solve problems in society.

An essential part of Solve for Tomorrow is mentoring. Former participants from Samsung Your Chance #futureskills program, a Samsung professional career development program, remain active in the alumni community by mentoring finalists in the local Solve for Tomorrow competition. Check out their journey in supporting the next generation.

From student to teacher

While both programs are different in their focus and goal, graduates of the Your Chance #futureskills program were seen as ideal mentors as they went through a similar intense process. Ondřej, a mentor of Solve for Tomorrow, did not miss the chance: “The mentoring offer was my little dream come true. I understood that I can help the team in areas in which I feel confident.”

Zuzana, Citizenship manager of Samsung’s CSR programs, explained, “The alumni have learned Design Thinking along with other project management methodologies. With the valuable experience from team projects and presentations, they can be very beneficial to the finalists.”

Creating a Samsung family

Ten other alumni immediately agreed to mentor the teams in the Solve for Tomorrow program. Zuzana said, “Our intention of maintaining and cultivating close relationships with our students and creating a community that we later called the ‘Samsung family’ was fulfilled. It was a success, both for the students – the finalists of Solve for Tomorrow – and our alumni.”

Kryštof, a student from the award-winning team Pilsen KV Innovations, continues to stay in touch with their mentor. “We were saved by our mentor who explained everything to us. We continuously improved our product and at the same time, gained motivation in the program to devote ourselves.”

Dominik, another student from the competition, added, “Now, we can’t wait until we ourselves become mentors for the second Solve for Tomorrow.”
