Global Samsung Innovation Campus

Point on 'Global' in world map

Reducing the gender gap in jobs related to ICT is an important focus for Samsung Innovation Campus in Argentina, reaching its third edition in 2023. The program aims to improve employability opportunities for young women by providing mentorship and training in IoT technology. Partnered by the Mirgor Foundation, the third edition of Samsung Innovation Campus Argentina was carried out in two locations, Rio Grande and Escobar.

Over the span of five months, 27 women received a 130-hour training in IoT and participated in job preparation workshops. The program offered self-development opportunities in key technical and soft skills, complemented by personalized mentoring. Let’s look into Samsung’s employability plan for these young women.

Providing higher access to education

Through Samsung Innovation Campus, young women in Argentina accessed comprehensive courses in Python, IoT fundamentals, electronic components, and data visualization. Through this, they were able to gain experience in applying practices, skills, and methodologies to develop technological solutions with hardware and software. Mayra Araujo, a participating student, commented, “The program helped me learn how to incorporate new skills in robotics, something that I had no knowledge of. Now, I am interested in this field and want to continue studying it in the future.”

The women gained a greater understanding of technology and confidence in their capabilities to pursue a professional ICT career. Another participating student, Aracelly Morales Acosta, provided her feedback on the course: “We learned tools that will serve us in work and trained to become a professional in technology. I highly recommend others to consider participating in the program.”

Breaking barriers in ICT careers

The participants experienced not only self-development, but also collaboration through working as a team. Furthermore, they received quality mentorship and guidance through instructors throughout the program. On instructor Sebastian Frydman, participant Yanina Noelia Cabana noted, “He was a key person in the course because he motivated us to get on track when we experienced difficulties.”

Laura, Head of Corporate Citizenship, recognized the impact of the program on the students: “The effort, dedication, and achievement of these graduates are a testament to their commitment and determination to overcome challenges to reach meaningful goals.” Samsung Innovation Campus unlocks new possibilities for young women to enter a booming industry through intuitive training and will continue to break barriers in ICT careers.
