To create an innovation that has not existed before, passion and efforts, as well as ideas, are important. Here’s the story of three people who turned their ideas into reality and nurtured the ambition for the future through Samsung Junior SW Cup.

Q: What program did you develop at Samsung Junior SW Cup?

A: It’s interesting to take pictures, but it’s often annoying to sort and organize them based on date and location. I came up with a software called ‘Keoleumchongyi’ which means ‘filter paper’ in Korean to tackle this problem. It organizes photos depending on the date and location that they were taken, finally uploading them to the data storage.

Q: What did you learn during this competition?

A: Samsung Junior SW Cup itself gave me a lesson and an opportunity to grow. I was able to improve my skills by planning and executing the project. Furthermore, I was motivated and felt a great sense of achievement after I completed the project without giving up.

Q: What kind of program did you develop at the competition?

A: ‘Luhan’ is a program that allows people to log in to all websites with a single sign-up, using their biometric information.

Q: What does Samsung Junior SW Cup mean to you?

A: Junior SW Cup was a valuable opportunity for me to share my ideas with other student developers and give shape to it together. In this process, I gained more confidence and trust in my ideas. I wish my software can continue to generate a positive influence on our society.

Q: Do you have any special experience at the Junior SW Cup?

A: I created a schedule sharing application called ‘MoDoList’ at Samsung Junior SW Cup in 2016. Thanks to the competition, I could decide my mind to change my future career. When I participated in the Junior SW Cup, I was deeply moved by the friendly and thorough mentoring from Samsung mentors and employees. Motivated by their warm heart, I myself became a mentor at Samsung Junior SW Cup too.

Q: How would you describe Samsung Junior SW Cup in one word?

A: Samsung Junior SW Cup is like a ‘Wide-angle lens’. As it mirrors a broad perspective, I learned different types of software as well as game development and how to convert ideas into reality. I think there’s a huge difference between knowing how to embody ideas into a tangible result and not. I hope everyone entering this contest can have the wonderful experience that I have had.
