Preparing Young Minds for the Digital Future

Since 2020, Samsung Innovation Campus has trained young Colombians to become experts in software management, essentially helping them achieve their fullest potential in the digital environment.

Now, Samsung Colombia, in partnership with Universidad del Rosario, is taking things further with a new version of Samsung Innovation Campus. The program offers virtual sessions targeted at young Colombians between the ages of 15 and 24, with priority access to minority populations and residents in rural areas.

Acquiring the skills for success

The course focuses on teaching programming in the Python language; learning everything from Python basics to core data structures such as lists, dictionaries, and tuples to perform complex data analysis.

Also, students will learn data processing and visualization, and the top-performing participants of the Coding & Programming course will have access to an in-depth course on the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and the structures of IoT.

Learning more than just code

Iván Laverde, Manager of Corporate Citizenship at Samsung Colombia, explained that in addition to education in computer science and programming, the course trains students in developing soft skills including interpersonal relationships and work ethic. “We also want to contribute to their entry into the working world with skills such as problem-solving, which will allow them to become innovative thinkers.”

The course starts in November and lasts for four months. With Samsung Innovation Campus, students will hopefully gain a chance to achieve their full potential and build a better future for all.
