A Path to Passion

Russia Samsung Innovation Campus

Point on 'Russia' in world map

Fyodor Sedov, a high-school student from Moscow with a passion for music and programming, joined Samsung Innovation Campus and became an award-winning app developer. Becoming one of the winners of the Samsung All-Russia mobile app contest and taking first place at the international competition “Scientists of the future”, his app, Wavenote, can help musicians compose and perform songs with a smartphone at hand.

A dream becomes reality

Fyodor said, “When I make my own music, I always see the need to write down ideas, tunes, and lyrics immediately. I tried several existing applications – but I found those apps were lacking ‘user-friendliness’. Once I thought – why can’t I create a single tool for composing and performing songs, which will always be near at hand?” That is how his project at Samsung has started.

He really enjoyed the great curriculum provided by Samsung IT School. “With each lesson, I discovered that it was designed to improve my skills at such an effective pace. It also inspired a great deal – the experience from Samsung IT School became my motivation to find new opportunities.”

He also expressed his appreciation to the teachers. “My colleagues and not to mention myself, all say that we are very lucky to have had a teacher who simplified the complex ideas and topics into an explicit explanation. It is great when you speak the same language as your teacher.”

Eyes on the future

Finding his passion at Samsung Innovation Campus, Fyodor will continue pursuing his career as a programmer. “Making Wavenote is the starting line for me. I will try to develop Wavenote even more convenient and functional for users worldwide,” Fyodor said in a very confident manner. “Since I have many musician friends, they keep inspiring me to upgrade this application with more features. In the near future, I will add a course for music theory and many more new features in my app.”
